Wine, yaba and kangaroo hide recovered from Samrat’s office
Huge quantities of wine, yaba, arms, bullets and kangaroo hides were recovered from the office of Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat.
The drive began it the afternoon of Sunday at Bhuiyan Trade Center at Kakrail in the capital and concluded in the evening.
Officials of RAB, who conducted the drive said, huge quantities of wine, yaba tablets, arms, bullets and kangaroo hides were recovered during the drive.
Earlier, RAB arrested Samrat and his associate from Chouddogram upazila under Cumilla district on Sunday early morning. Later, in the afternoon he was expelled from the party.
The name of Jubo League leader Samrat came in front after the anti-casino drive in the capital that began on September 18. Many including law enforcement agency members predicted that Samrat was one of the main controllers of casino business in Dhaka. Besides, there are allegations of tender manipulation and extortion against him.
As the anti casino drive began Samrat took his position at his office in Bhuiyan Mansion at Kakrail in the capital. More than hundred supporters began to guard him. But after one week mysterious situation was created over his position.
At that time law enforcing agency said that Samrat was under their watch. On September 22 ban was imposed on Samrat’s movement so that he cannot leave the country. His bank accounts were also summoned.
