Chemical factories of old Dhaka to be relocated by 2022: Enamur

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr. Enamur Rahman said, all the chemical factories at old Dhaka will be relocated by June, 2022.

He said these after holding a discussion over the investigation report submitted in connection with fire at Churihatta and FR Tower at the secretariat on Wednesday.

Enamur Rahman said, it was a public demand that these chemical factories have to be relocated from the residential areas of Dhaka. In the meeting of today we knew from the industry ministry report that 310 acres of land was allocated in Sirajdikhan upazila. There with a cost of 700 crore taka 2 thousand 154 plots will be allocated.

He said, there was an allegation against our government that our activities increase when disaster comes. To drive out this bad name we have called inter ministerial meeting. In the meeting we have reviewed the disasters that happened in the past.

The State Minister said, we have got the report of the investigation committee that was formed after the fire incident of Churihatta in old Dhaka. In the report there are five short term and 26 long term recommendations. We have discussed over the recommendations.
