Eid-ul-Fitr being celebrated throughout the country

With due religious fervor, dignity and enjoyment holy Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated throughout the country including capital Dhaka.

After realizing fasting for one month to get satisfaction of almighty Allah lakhs to crore people said their Eid prayers in Eidgah, mosques and open fields. News from our Correspondents:

Dinajpur: The biggest Eid congregation was held at the historic Gor-e Shaheed Boro Maidan in Dinajpur. The organizers claimed that around six lakh devotees said their prayers in this big congregation of Eid.

The Eid jamaat was held in this 23 acres ground at 8:30 am. Maulana Shamsul Alam Qashemi, Pesh Imam of Dinajpur General Hospital Jame Mosque led the prayer.

Among the lakhs of devotees Justice of High Court division M Enayetur Rahim, Whip of Jatiya Sangsad Iqbalur Rahim MP took part in the big Eid jamaat. Devotees of Dinajpur and adjacent areas say their prayers here.

Rangpur: Eid jamaat was held in Rangpur with strict security. The main jamaat was held at the Collectorate Eidgah ground at 8:30 am. Under supervision of Rangpur City Corporation the Eid jamaat was participated by thousands of Muslims where City Mayor Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa, Divisional Commissioner Joynul Bari, Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib and other political party leaders were present. Special munajat was offered after the prayer seeking well being of the country and nation.

Bagerhat: Eid-ul-Fitr was observed with due religious fervor in Bagerhat. The main jamaat of this year’s Eid was held at the historic Shat Gambuz Mosque at 7:30 am. Bagerhat district administration officials and different leaders of political parties took part in the jamaat there. Two more jamaats were held in this mosque at 8:15 am and 9 am. Thousands of devotees took part in the jamaats. 46 other Eid jamaats were arranged under this municipality area.

Barishal: In Barishal the main Eid jamaat was held at the Hemayet Uddin Eidgah with munajat seeking progress of the country and nation and peace for the Muslim ummah. Khatib of Jame Ebaydullah Mosque Maulana Nurur Rahman Beg led the prayer which was held at 8:30 am on Wednesday.

Barishal City Corporation Mayor Serniabat Sadik Abdullah, Deputy Commissioner SM Azior Rahman and people from different professions including political leaders and social activists took part in the prayer.

Chattogram: In Chattogram the main Eid jamaat was held at the Jamiyatul Falah National Eidgah in the city at 8 am. Deputy Minister for Education Muhibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, Chattogram City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, former minister and BNP leader Zafrul Islam and other political leaders participated in the prayer. Special munajat was offered seeking well being of the country and nation. Moreover, Eid jamaats were arranged in 258 places in the city. Special security measures were taken centering each of the jamaats.

Cumilla: The main jamaat of Cumilla was held at central Eidgah at 8:30 am on Wednesday. Kari Mohammad Ibrahim led the prayer.

People from different classes and professions including Cumilla sadar MP Hazi AKM Bahauddin Bahar, Cumilla City Corporation Mayor Monirul Haque Sakku, Deputy Commissioner Md. Abul Fazal Mir, former administrator of Cumilla district council Alhaj Md. Omor Faruque were present in the prayer. Besides Eid jamaats were held in different Eidgah and mosques under 17 upazilas of the district.

Faridpur: With due religious fervor the main Eid ul Fitr jamaat was held at Chandmari Central Eidgah in the district at 8 am on Wednesday.

In this prime Eid jamaat Chairman of parliamentary standing committee on rural development and cooperatives and Member of Parliament of Faridpur sadar constituency Khandaher Mosharraf Hossain took part. Besides, Faridpur municipality Mayor Sheikh Mahtab Ali Methu, Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Aslam among others were present.

Gaibandha: The main Eid jamaat was held at Gaibandha central Eidgah in a peaceful manner. Deputy Commissioner, Municipality Mayor, officials of the administration and political leaders were present in the jamaat.

Noakhali: The two main Eid jamaats were held at the District Eidgah and District Jame Mosque ground. Huge number of devotees including leaders of different political parties, Noakhali Police Super and Municipality Mayor were present in the prayers.

Shariatpur: More than two hundred Eid jamaats were held in Shariatpur district with due religious fervor. The main jamaat was held at the Sahriatpur Central Eidgah at 8 am. Member of Parliament of Shariatpur-1 constituency Iqbal Hossain Apu, Municipality Mayor Rafiqul Islam Kotoal and officers-employees of government-private offices including political persons say their prayers. Special munajat was offered seeking peace for Muslim ummah after saying the prayer.
