Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan is delivering speech at Kamalapur railway station on Friday.

Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said, to make the eid journey easier plans have been taken to sell the advance train tickets outside of the station. Tickets may be sold at different places including TSC, Sayedabad or Rail Bhaban.

He said these to the newsmen after visiting Kamalapur railway station on Friday. Railway high officials were present at that time.

The minister said, there is long queue of passengers to buy tickets at Kamalapur station. The station turns into a market. Apps will be launched in this month to ease sufferings of general passengers. In this process they can buy tickets sitting at home.

He said, we have taken initiatives to introduce a non-stop train between Dhaka and Rajshahi on Pohela Boishakh. We hope that we can start the train in due time. Coaches were brought from Indonesia and those will be added to this train. The non-stop train will not make stoppage at any other station. So the passengers from Dhaka to Rajshahi and from Rajshahi to Dhaka can travel in short time.

Sujan said, in the next one year 550 bogies, 100 engines and 250 coaches will come. Besides, the meter gauge lines will be out of operation gradually. All the lines will be broad gauge.

The Railway Minister said, the government wants to give railway a new shape and bring it close to the people. The scarcity of manpower is going to be driven away. We hope railway will turn into a real service.

He said, 72 trains are currently being operational in different areas of the country under agreement basis private management. These agreements will not be renewed and no new agreement will be signed. We will make those trains operational under railway. There are different allegations including entering the Kamalapur station without ticket. We will close all the small entry points very soon. Along with this fines for travelling without tickets will continue.
