Law Minister Anisul Huq said, former chief justice S K Sinha had a desire to perform ‘judicial coup’. About two to two and half years have wasted to prevent that. Many development activities were interrupted for that.

He said these at a coordination meeting with the officials of legislative and parliamentary affairs division at the secretariat on Tuesday.

The Law Minister said, the moment when we feel about necessity of rule of law then at the same moment there is necessity of legislative division. The reason is that no law can go beyond the coverage of legislative division. The Prime Minister has formed the division considering the importance.

He also said, the birth of legislative wing should have given from the day when the task was taken to formulate the constitution. Because, legislative wing is a very important wing. But that was not done. The military rulers could not think that to formulate law it needs separate division to examine. For that we have to wait till 2009 after the independence of Bangladesh.
