Sit in program was declared by boycotting the classes and examinations on Tuesday if the results of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election are not cancelled. Chhatra Dal, leftist students’ front and independent panel candidates declared the program after filing written complaints of vote rigging to the Chief Returning Officer Mahfuzur Rahman at the senate building after holding the election on Monday.

Later the candidates of five panels who boycotted the election brought out a procession from there and came in front of Raju sculpture. At that time they demanded DUCSU re-election. There Progressive Students Unity VP candidate Liton Nandi said, students will not accept this farce election. If the results are not cancelled by Monday night then sit in program will be observed in front of Raju sculpture by boycotting the classes and examinations from 10 am Tuesday.

Earlier, at 8 am on Monday DUCSU election began. But the voting in Rokeya hall began one hour later.

Besides, voting began after three hours in Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitree hall as the student protested over the incident of recovering ballot papers in a sack. The incident triggered changing of hall Provost.

Meanwhile, all panels of student organizations boycotted the DUCSU election except Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL). The declaration of rejecting the election came in after holding press conference at Madhu’s Canteen on Monday afternoon by the student organizations and panels.
