Only view exchange, nothing special: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the party held a meeting with diplomats of different countries on the country’s present political and overall situation.

He said this after holding the meeting at BNP Chairperson’s political office at Gulshan on Tuesday.

Mirza Fakhrul Said, we hold routine meeting with diplomats appointed in Dhaka from the different countries. The same kind of meeting was held on Tuesday. There is nothing to brief. There were only exchange of views and nothing special.

When asked whether there was any discussion regarding Khaleda Zia’s verdict, the BNP Secretary General said, I have earlier said it was just a regular meeting.

Diplomats from India, Pakistan, China, Japan, Germany, Kuwait, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Italy, EU, Britain, Vatican, Denmark, Canada, Nepal, Australia, Morocco and Netherlands were present in the meeting. Besides, USAID representatives were also present.

The other participants from BNP were party Standing Committee Member Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Dr. Moyeen Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Vice Chairman Advocate Joynul Abedin, Chairperson’s Advisor Sabih Uddin Ahmed, Riaz Rahman, Enam Ahmed Chowdhury, Assistant Secretary for international affairs Barrister Rumin Farhana and Special Secretary Dr. Asaduzzaman Ripon.
