Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, those who take yaba and are involved in trading, their wives will not accompany them. The sisters who take yaba and are involved in it, their husbands will not accompany them. You have to seek apology to Allah. Be honest. I don’t want to say in detail.

He said these as the chief guest in a surrender program of yaba traders who are listed by home ministry at Teknaf Pilot High School ground in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday.

102 yaba traders including 29 god fathers surrendered in the program. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and IGP Dr. Mohammad Javed Patwary received the yaba traders with flowers. At that time the yaba traders deposited 3 lakh 50 thousand pieces yaba tablets, 30 home made fire arms and 70 rounds of cartridges. The yaba traders were taken under police custody after the surrender.

While delivering speech the home minister said, why you have to do yaba trading? Cox’s Bazar will be the most successful business area. You have opportunities of different types of business. But you are getting involved in yaba trading, which is crime. You are doing harm to the society, state. You are destroying your children, families and everything.

In the program he said to the women, you could have brought back your husband from this path of crimes. But you did not. Even you were involved. As you have surrendered after sensing your mistakes, we, on behalf of the administration and government, express thanks to you. We hope that from now you will live a good life.

In the program the home minister also said, all the yaba traders will be brought under law no matter how powerful they are. Those who did not surrender till at present need to surrender quickly. Nobody related to drugs will be spared. The country has to be saved at first. We have to remain alert so that no drugs or illegal people can intrude through the border. BGB has to take the responsibility.

The program presided over by Cox’s Bazar Police Super ABM Masud Hossain where Inspector General of Police Dr. Javed Patwary, Members of Parliament Shahin Akter, Jafar Alam, Ashek Ullah Rafiq, Saimum Sarwar Komol, Deputy Commissioner Kamal Hossain, district council Chairman Mostak Ahmed Chowdhury and others delivered speeches.
