Gazette over appointment of 5 Advisers to PM

A gazette was published over appointment of five Advisers to the Prime Minister with status of minister. The cabinet division published the gazette on Monday evening. Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam signed the gazette following order of the President.

The gazette said, under the rule 3 B (i) of the Rules of Business 1996 of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh the Prime Minister appointed the Advisers on January 7 according to the portfolios mentioned beside their names.

The Advisers to the Prime Minister are- Political Adviser HT Imam, Economic Affairs Adviser Mushiur Rahman, International Affairs Adviser Gowher Rizvi, Power and Energy Adviser Toufiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury and Security Affairs Adviser Major General Tarique Ahmed Siddique (retd.).

The Advisers will get the same salaries and allowances of a minister, the gazette said.

The Grand Alliance led by Awami League won the eleventh national parliament election with absolute majority that held on December 30. After that on January 7 the new cabinet members took oath led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In the new cabinet there are 24 ministers, 19 state ministers and 3 deputy ministers.
