Malaysia will soon start manpower recruitment from Bangladesh as per new rules, said Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment.

The government may announce the new recruitment process by this month, said sources at the ministry.

Preferring to be unnamed, an official of the ministry, said Bangladesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Malaysia in this regard in October of last year.

“Meanwhile, more than two meetings of the Joint Working Group between the two countries were held. Hopefully, the recruitment of workers from Bangladesh to Malaysia will be started soon,” he said.

“If the recruitment is introduced, it will open the opportunity for Bangladesh to send workers to Malaysia at low cost,” he said, adding, “In this case, no middleman will get any chance to do any irregularity or corruption centring the recruitment as the whole process will be conducted online.”
