Uniformed miscreants attack AL office, 17 injured: Quader

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, uniformed miscreants attacked Awami League office at Dhanmondi in the capital. 17 leaders and workers of the party were injured in the incident. They were admitted to hospital.

He said these at a press conference at Awami League president’s office at Dhanmondi in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

Obaidul Quader said, the miscreants attacked the AL office wearing helmets. The government is worried over security of the students.

He also commented that Awami League is respectful to the current demands of the students.

Earlier in different stages the miscreants attacked the students and AL office at Jigatola and Dhanmondi.

On July 29 afternoon two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School and College-Dia Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib were killed as a bus ran over them near Kurmitola General Hospital on Airport Road. In this connection the students raised 9-point demands including exemplary punishment for the driver, ensuring safe roads and withdrawal of unethical comments of Shipping Minister. To press their demands general students are holding demonstration after seizing the roads in the capital for last seven days.
