Rainfall till first week of August

Bangladesh Meteorological Department has said that rainfall will continue till August 2 to 3 in different parts of Bangladesh.

Meteorologist AKM Ruhul Quddus told Rtv online on Friday that normal rainfall will occur throughout the country in the month of August. One or two monsoon depression may be created in the Bay of Bengal. In August, 312 millimeters rainfall may occur in Dhaka, 340 millimeters in Mymensingh, 556 millimeters in Chattogram, 456 millimeters in Sylhet, 279 millimeters in Rajshahi, 380 millimeters in Rangpur, 339 millimeters in Khulna and 519 millimeters rainfall may occur in Barishal. But there is no fear of flood in the month.

He also said, total 10 millimeters rainfall was recorded in the capital from the Friday morning. Temperature is high though the rainfall. The highest temperature 32.2 degree Celsius was recorded in Dhaka.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours said, light to moderate rain or thunder shower with gusty wind may occur in different parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions. As well as heavy to moderate rainfall may occur in some parts of Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Rajshahi divisions.

Met office also said, the extended axis of monsoon is expanded through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and mid region of Bangladesh and to Assam to the north-east. An extended part is remaining over North Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and it is remaining over North Bay of Bengal.
