Gold prices to hit record high
Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (Bajus) today (March 6) has decided to increase the price of gold in the country's market.
As a result, the price has reached a record price. The price of 22-carat gold will be Tk 112,907 a bhori, the highest in the history of Bangladesh.
The previous price of each bhori or 11.664 grammes of 22-carat gold ornaments was Tk 1.1 lakh.
According to a press release issued by Bajus on Wednesday (March 6), the price of Pure Gold has increased. As a result, the new price of gold has been fixed considering the overall situation.
However, the price of gold crossed the Tk 100,000-mark in July 2023 for the first time in Bangladesh. The previous price of each bhori or 11.664 grammes of 22-carat gold ornaments was Tk 1.1 lakh.
Almost 20 to 40 tonnes of gold needed to fulfill the annual demand in Bangladesh.
