UN pledges to finance climate actions in Bangladesh

In the current fiscal year, 24 ministries of the country have allocated Tk 35,000 crore to tackle climate change. The United Nations (UN) has assured that UN will provide substantial funding to Bangladesh through its various agencies to tackle climate change.

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister, Saber Hossain Chowdhury today (Feb 26) briefed reporters after a bilateral meeting with UN Resident Coordinator Gwyn Lewis at his residence in Paribagh in the capital. on Monday.

The UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh Gwyn Lewis said that she had a discussion with the environment minister about how Bangladesh can get international funding to tackle climate change.
