  07 Jun 2018, 00:00

BNP standing committee member Dr. Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain said, the declared budget is not people’s welfare oriented. This is a deficit budget to attract voters in the year of election which is not going to be implemented. We are rejecting the proposed budget of 2018-19 fiscal year. We are also protesting it.

He said these at a doa and iftar mahfil organized by Kalyan Party in the capital on Thursday.

Mosharraf said, there will be less import and less export-so it is a budget of eye wash and to attract vote of people. It is not implementable. The government will not be able to implement this budget as we have experienced for the quality of the previous. They will not be able to collect the revenue.

He said, the proposed budget will allow rich people to be richer and the poor people to be poorer. It is a budget of deception. Government has introduced a big budget with expectation.

The BNP standing committee member said, there were huge offcut in last year’s budget. In the last year’s revised budget the target of revenue income was not met. This year the target is 64 crore taka more and they will not be able to collect it.

Mosharraf said, the current autocratic government has placed a budget in the parliament. The main expenditure is 4 lakh 65 thousand crore taka. Of this the development budget is 1 lakh 73 crore taka and the deficit is 1 lakh 85 thousand 2 hundred 93 crore taka.
