Dengue: 19 patients die, 1,792 hospitalized in 24 hrs

A total of 19 dengue patients died and 1,792 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till 8 am Wednesday.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said that in a a press release. "During the period, 922 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city and 870 were admitted to different hospitals outside it." also said it in that press release.
The daily statement of the DGHS said, "This year, 146 deaths were reported from dengue disease while 269 died last year."
The total number of patients rose to 25,792, some 20,094 patients were released from different hospitals this year among the total patients.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has recently issued comprehensive instructions on prevention of dengue infection as the mosquito- borne tropical disease has increased sharply in the current year.

RAB arrests chief coordinator of KNF
Cheosim Bawm, the local chief coordinator of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), was arrested in a special operation in Bandarban.

Brazil to help Bangladesh for BRICS membership
Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira has assured of extending all-out support to Bangladesh for its keen interest in becoming a BRICS member.

More than 2m SIM card holders left the capital in 2 days
More than 20 lakh mobile phone SIM holders have left the capital in the last two days. This information has been found in the sources of mobile phone operators.

Moon not sighted, Eid on Thursday

16 lives lost in road crash across country
At least 16 people were killed in road accidents in eight districts of the country. Many others were injured in these incidents.

Mymensingh: Three accidents took place in Mymensingh Sadar, Trishal and Tarakanda upazilas of the district from Tuesday morning to afternoon. Eight people, including three of a family, were killed in the incidents.
Tangail: A man was killed in a collision between a pick-up van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Madhupur in Tangail on Tuesday afternoon. Another person was also injured in that incident.
Dinajpur: A motorcyclist named Babul Hossain (40) was killed in a collision between two motorcycles on Dinajpur-Gobindaganj highway on Tuesday afternoon.
Kurigram: A man was killed in a collision between a trolley and a motorcycle on Kurigram-Bhurungamari highway on Tuesday noon
Besides, two people were killed in Sitakunda and three in Munshiganj, Bogura and Gaibandha. At least six people were injured in the incident.
