United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid bin Ra’ad al Hussein has said that Myanmar State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi had the assent of brutal army repression over minority Muslim Rohingya population. He said this while exchanging views with BBC.

The UN Human Rights High Commissioner said, people associated with the killings have to face trial. How and in which scale the army operations were originated, it seems that assent of high ups was behind the incidents.

He also said, several thousand were killed and lakhs of people were forced to leave their homes following the operation. For this Myanmar leaders have to face genocide charges.

In his speech to the UN Human Rights Council in early part of this month Zeid Ra’ad al Hussein said, repression over Rohingyas in Myanmar was conducted in a planned way. If somebody plans to originate genocide then he would not make it documented. Even no proof of directions would be found.

Meanwhile, Suu Kyi did not make any comment on the matter.

After emergence of army crackdown in Myanmar more than six lakh Rohingyas fled the country and took shelter in Bangladesh.
