'Share the joy of Eid with all'

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called upon everyone to share the joy of Eid. On Saturday, April 22, Prime Minister made this statement while exchanging Eid greetings at Ganabhaban.
Prime Minister said, "We should think about whether there is a conspiracy by arsonists in recent fire incident issue one after another."
Point to be noted that, several fire incidents occurred in Dhaka this month. Among them, the two biggest fire incidents happened in Bangabazar and New Super Market.
Many people also expressed doubts about the fire incidents one after another.
Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Bangabandhu, spoke about the fire incidents during the exchange of Eid greetings at the Ganabhaban on Saturday, April 22.
Sheikh Hasina said, "Several fire incidents in New Super Market-Bangbazar and other areas, it should be seen whether there is any conspiracy by arsonists. I feel sorry for the traders who have been affected by these fires."
Urging everyone to share the joy of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr with the people close to them and the poor people of the society, the Prime Minister said, "Let us stand by the family, relatives, neighbors and all the poor, and helpless people of the society and share the joy of Eid with everyone."
Prime Minister added, "Eid-ul-Fitr has come after a month of fasting. May Eid-ul-Fitr bring us endless joy, happiness and peace."

Gold prices hitting record high, breaks all records
Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (Bajus) has fixed the new price of gold.
The price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 1,750 to Tk 1,15,824 per bhori, according to a notification issued by Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) on Saturday.
Besides, the price of 21 carat gold has been fixed at Tk 1,10,575, 18 carat gold at Tk 94,770. Although the price of gold has increased, the price of silver has been kept unchanged.
According to the notification, the price of gold has increased in the local market. Considering the overall situation, BAJUS has fixed the new price of gold. The new prices will be effective from Sunday (April 7).
Eid shopping reaches its peak
The last time shopping is going on everywhere ahead of Eid ul-Fitr. People are buying clothes, shoes, cosmetics, ornaments and other necessities for their loved ones.
On Sunday (April 7), Shoppers are in a rush to shopping malls, centres and roadside shops in the capital's New Market, Bashundhara City, Aarong and Jamuna Future Park in the capital as Eid shopping gets its peak. As Most of the people will leave the capital for village homes ahead of Eid ul-Fitr, so shoppers are in rush to finish Eid shopping.

Brazil to help Bangladesh for BRICS membership
Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira has assured of extending all-out support to Bangladesh for its keen interest in becoming a BRICS member.
Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira held a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud at the state guest house Jamuna on Sunday (April 7) afternoon. Foreign Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud briefed reporters after the meeting.
He said Brazil will cooperate with Bangladesh for inclusion in BRICS. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina likely to visit Brazil in July.
The foreign minister said this is the first visit by a Brazilian foreign minister to Bangladesh. We had a very successful bilateral discussion.
More than 2m SIM card holders left the capital in 2 days
More than 20 lakh mobile phone SIM holders have left the capital in the last two days. This information has been found in the sources of mobile phone operators.
Each SIM card has a code known as an IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) which uniquely identifies the SIM card itself. SIM holders are meant to be different people (unique user). They may be accompanied by elderly men, women and children, who do not use cell phones. As a result, it is difficult to get an estimate of how many people have actually left Dhaka.
According to some sources, more than 20 lakh mobile SIM holders left Dhaka on April 6 and 7. At this time, more than 9.5 lakh SIM holders have entered Dhaka from different districts.
Moon not sighted, Eid on Thursday
The moon of the holy month of Shawwal was not sighted in the sky of the country. As a result, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Thursday (April 11).
The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting committee on Tuesday (April 9) evening.
Eid-ul-Fitr "festival of breaking the fast" will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia and other European countries on Wednesday (April 10) as the moon of the holy month of Shawwal was not sighted in the Middle East on Monday (April 8).
Meanwhile, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in different districts of Bangladesh on Wednesday (April 10) in conformity with Saudi Arabia.
16 lives lost in road crash across country
At least 16 people were killed in road accidents in eight districts of the country. Many others were injured in these incidents.

Mymensingh: Three accidents took place in Mymensingh Sadar, Trishal and Tarakanda upazilas of the district from Tuesday morning to afternoon. Eight people, including three of a family, were killed in the incidents.
Tangail: A man was killed in a collision between a pick-up van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Madhupur in Tangail on Tuesday afternoon. Another person was also injured in that incident.
Dinajpur: A motorcyclist named Babul Hossain (40) was killed in a collision between two motorcycles on Dinajpur-Gobindaganj highway on Tuesday afternoon.
Kurigram: A man was killed in a collision between a trolley and a motorcycle on Kurigram-Bhurungamari highway on Tuesday noon
Besides, two people were killed in Sitakunda and three in Munshiganj, Bogura and Gaibandha. At least six people were injured in the incident.
Metro Rail to remain closed for 2 days during Eid
Metro rail services will be closed for two during Eid-ul-Fitr. As a result, the metro rail movement will be closed for two consecutive days on the occasion of Eid. The day after Eid al-Fitr is Friday. That day is the weekly holiday of Metro rail.
Nazmul Islam Bhuiyan, deputy manager of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), confirmed the matter on Wednesday morning (April 10). He said, according to the previous announcement, the metro rail will be closed on the Eid day. Metro services were also suspended on Eid last year.
Nazmul Islam Bhuiyan said in the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, an average of 2,40,000 passengers traveled daily on the metro rail. Before Ramadan, the number was 295,000. The number of passengers has increased after the metro rail increased by one hour from 16 Ramadan. In the last five days, an average of 2 lakh 90 thousand passengers have traveled.
