The home ministry has decided to change the uniform for Bangladesh police force instead of the current. Trials are going on over different colors and qualities of the dresses. The final decision would be taken for selecting the special one kind following opinions of the experts and trials for nearly a month. According to the sources, the new uniform would be designed with mixed color instead of one color. Besides, the uniform would be same for all units of police forces. It is a routine work to change the uniform of forces. It has been changed after several years of interval. In 2004 and 2009 changes had been brought for the police uniform keeping pace with weather and the globe. The recent decision is a continuous process of that. It was known that in the new uniform emphasis has been given to the quality of cloths. In this regard Bangladesh has analyzed police uniforms of 10 to 15 developed countries. The new uniform would be chosen considering the quality of cloths of those countries. There will be half and full shirts for the new police uniforms. Half shirt uniforms will be for the summer and full shirt uniforms for the winter. About mixed color it was known that criminals often commit crimes by making the uniforms of metropolitan police and district police easily which are one color cloths. If the uniform would be mixed color then the criminals will not be able to make those. About the change of police uniform AIG (media and public relations) Md. Sohel Rana said, trials are going on to change the uniform. Final decision will be taken after completion of the trials. AH  

Dhaka University (DU) has decided not to participate in the uniform admission system for the public universities in the country. The decision was finalized at the academic council meeting on Monday. Earlier, on Wednesday BUET and on Thursday Chattogram University decided not to participate in the integrated admission test by UGC. Jahangirnagar University and Rajshahi University also expressed their unwillingness for the integrated admission test system. On January 23 decision was taken for holding integrated admission test in a view exchange meeting of University Grants Commission (UGC) with the Vice Chancellors of the public universities. Later, on February 11 at the standing committee meeting of Bangladesh University Council, the organization of the Vice Chancellors of public universities, decision was taken to hold integrated admission test from this year. Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said, uniform university admission test will be held from the year 2020 in all the public universities in the country. The minister delivered the information while responding a verbal question of Harunur Rashid, law maker from Chapainawabganj-3 constituency in the parliament on Sunday. Dipu Moni said, the process is underway to start uniform admission test in all the public agricultural universities in the country by the government. The integrated admission system has been developed for the agricultural universities or the universities that prefer agricultural education according to the government plan, which will be held on November 30. We hope that from the year 2020 uniform admission test will be held in all the public universities, added the minister. In response to a question of Netrokona-3 Member of Parliament Ashim Kumar Ukil regarding bank draft for university admission test, Dipu Moni said, at present the government has no plan to waive the bank draft money of university admission test.
