Social media content creator Ashraful Hossen, popularly known as Hero Alom, filed a Tk 50 crore defamation case against BNP senior leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi for reportedly making slanderous comments. He filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate on Monday. Hero Alam's lawyer Abdullah Munsur Ripon said, the court took the statement of the plaintiff and directed the Detective Branch of Police to investigate the allegations and submit a report. Earlier on Sunday, Hero Alam went to the DB office to lodge a complaint against the senior BNP leader but the DB chief advised him to file a case with the court.

Senior joint secretary general of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Ruhul KAbir Rizvi has been infected with coronavirus. He delivered the sample to examine coronavirus infection at a private hospital in the capital. The report came out as ‘positive’. BNP Chairperson’s press wing member Shairul Kabir Khan delivered the information on Wednesday. Shairul said, he has been suffering from fever for last three-four days. When he went to the hospital to perform CT scan then corona sample was also supplied. And that report came out positive. AH

Senior joint secretary general of BNP Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, people of this country never accepted autocrat ruler. The fall of the autocrat government is at the final stage. The siren of fall of the government is blowing. His comment came in after offering floral wreath and desiring forgiveness of the departed soul at the grave of BNP founder and former president Ziaur Rahman  on the occasion of 41st founding anniversary of Jatiyatabadi Tanti Dal on Friday. Rizvi said, as the government has no piece of land under its feet and for that reason they are out to destroy the opposition opinions and opposition forces through repression. Awami League wants to remain in power with help of law enforcing agencies. The BNP senior joint secretary general also said, the country is passing through a crisis. Now people of different classes and professions are united who believe in Bangladeshi nationalism. ‍As Begum Khaleda Zia has expressed herself as the symbol of protest against this authoritarian fascist government, so they are oppressing the nationalist forces in different ways. BNP senior joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi returned home on Wednesday after receiving treatment for over two weeks at a private hospital for cardiac problems. He was released from Labaid Specialized Hospital in the capital in the afternoon as his condition improved, said Prof Dr Lutfor Rahman of the hospital. “He (Rizvi) can now receive treatment at home. He’ll have to undergo a coronary angiogram test after one and a half months,” the physician said. Rizvi reached his Mohammadpur house around 4:30pm from the hospital, said his personal assistant Arifur Rahman Tushar. On October 13, Rizvi was admitted to Labaid Hospital as he suffered a cardiac arrest. He complained of chest pain as he got into his car after joining a human-chain programme in front of the Jatiya Press Club on that day. BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) are regularly killing the Bangladeshi nationals. Bangladeshis are being fall victim of the one sided killing. The current government is so genuflected that ministers are not protesting the border killing by the BSF rather accused the Bangladeshis killed by them. He said these at a virtual news briefing held at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan on Sunday. Rizvi said, BSF members capture Bangladeshis from the territory of Bangladesh. In the last three months they killed 25 Bangladeshi nationals. Recently on July 2 they killed another Bangladeshi national. There is allegation that on Saturday BSF took away mentally challenged Jahangir Alam from Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district and shot him to death. But the Bangladesh government did not utter a single word. Criticizing the role of Information Minister he said, why the minister is silent? There is no step taken by the government to stop border killing. The genuflected government is unable to show any protest. BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, the number of coronavirus infected patients and deaths  have been increasing in the country as the government has no pre-preparation to contain the disease. He said these while distributing food items among poor and destitute people at Mohammadpur area in the capital on Friday morning. Rizvi said, lockdown is going on throughout the country. So there is scarcity of food among the least income people. People are rushing for food. A famine like situation is prevailing in the country. In this bad time BNP leaders and activists are distributing relief items with help of their pocket money, while the members and chairmen of the ruling party are stealing the relief rice. He said, the whole world including Bangladesh is in disarray. Coronavirus did not affect Bangladesh at the beginning when other countries were affected. The government had enough time to take preparation but it could not. Countries like Vietnam, Bhutan took appropriate steps, so that the number of infections and deaths is less there. Rizvi also said, the least income people are not getting food. They are suffering a lot and fasting in this dangerous situation. AH

But the government is not able to realize the situation till at present. He said these through an online briefing from BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan in the capital on Monday. Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, though the government has no legitimacy but to get relief of the situation BNP is ready to extend all out assistance to the government. He said, BNP does not want to waste time by answering the unnecessary comments of the Awami League leaders in this crisis moment. Rather it wants to work. Rizvi said, we are saddened over the role of the government regarding the holidays of workers. In this crisis moment gathering of so much people –is really a matter of panic. He said, long queues are seen in the narrow streets of the country. The government failed to stand beside these jobless people. BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, BNP leaders are being made accused in imaginary cases by police though they are imprisoned. Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leaders Ishak Sarkar and Mostafiz have been imprisoned for a long period. But they were made accused in the case of setting ablaze motorcycles. He said these at a press conference organized at BNP central office at Nayapaltan in the capital on Friday. Rizvi said, 135 persons were made accused in connection with setting ablaze motorcycles in front of the High Court. Of them JCD organizing secretary Ishak Sarkar and JCD vice president candidate Mostafiz are in jail for long period. But they were made accused. He said, police could not find the owners of the motorcycles. Nobody claimed as owner of the three motorcycles. This incident of fire is motivated. But case was filed against 135 BNP leaders. He also said, in fear of losing power this government is filing numerous number of false, fabricated and imaginary cases again. Like the government police have turned into a factory of imaginary information production. Cases are being filed in the names of BNP senior leaders one by one in the past week. Rizvi alleged, the court was forced to implement the decision of scrapping Begul Khaleda Zia’s bail plea. The decision of not granting bail to a former prime minister and 75 years old noble woman is one of the strict cruelties in the recent time. AH    

Senior joint secretary general of BNP Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, to hide the anti-state agreements that were signed during Prime Minister’s India visit, the casino dramas including the drama of arresting Jubo League leader Samrat were arranged. His remarks came in at a press conference organized at BNP’s central office at Nayapaltan in the capital on Sunday. Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, you can remember that Obaidul Quader said that there was surprise coming ahead. This is their surprise. These are basically different types of dramas arranged by Awami League. He also said, the drama of arresting Samrat has been staged to divert attention of people from the agreements signed with India. The drama of arresting Samrat has been brought in front to divert people’s attention from the anti-people and unfair agreements signed with India during the three days official visit. Senior joint secretary general of BNP Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, toll collection decision on the highways has been taken to pick the pockets of general people. He also termed Prime Minister’s decision to collect tolls on highways as anti-people. He said these at a press conference held at Nayapaltan party central office on Friday. Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said, the highways of the country are not eligible to collect tolls. Highways are in dilapidated condition. For this reason accidents are taking place regularly. Bus fare will go up if tolls are imposed. At present transport owners are charging extra fare than the government fixed fare. The toll money will also be collected from the people. The BNP spokesman said, now people have to count five to ten thousand taka to get a trade license. Holding tax has been increased by many-fold. Charges for gas-electricity-water have been increased ten times in last several years. The government has imposed charge on people’s communication way- mobile phone. Party central leaders Bilkis Jahan Shirin, Abdus Salam Azad, Asadul Karim Shahin, Mahbubul Haque Nannu and others were present at the press conference. AH
