Unidentified miscreants in the guise of thieves raped a housewife sprayed superglue on her eyes and covered her mouth with tape. By that time, they looted some belongings including earrings and gold ornaments of the housewife. The victim's family said that her son and daughter study from Bagerhat and Khulna. On Sunday (Jan 11) night while her husband was in Garuikhali bazar around three in the morning, some miscreants entered the bedroom of the housewife looted and gang-raped her. Obaidur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Paikgacha Police Station said that the housewife was found with her hands and feet tied. Police visited the spot. Police started the investigation to identify the miscreants.

There is an allegation of raping a five year old girl child at Harirampur upazila under Manikganj district. At present the child is undergoing treatment at Manikganj Sadar Hospital. Grandmother of the child said, in the morning of September 26, a 45 years old man called the child to his house and raped her. The child came to her house and began to cry. When asked about the cause of crying the child described the incident of repression. The child’s grandmother also said, as they complained about the matter to father of the accused Jamir, he assured of arbitration. But after not getting justice for three days, they then informed the matter to a local union council member. Following his suggestion the child was admitted to the Manikganj Sadar Hospital yesterday (Tuesday). AH 

Director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin said, the rape victim Dhaka University female student is suffering from trauma, she is also suffering from breathlessness. There were marks of wound in her body. But efforts are going on to provide utmost medical services. He said that the female student admitted at the hospital talked to the physicians on Monday. The DMCH Director said, the patient has mental trauma and some marks of physical wound. As well as she mentioned about some problems and we also detected some. Expert physicians are providing treatment to her. At this moment it is uncomfortable to visit or talk to her. About evidence of rape he said, DMCH forensic department is dealing with the matter of rape. As well as she is under intensive care of ENT department. As she is suffering from breathlessness, so we have decided to form a medical board comprising physicians of respiratory medicine and other departments. The student complained that on Sunday evening she was raped after she got out of the university bus at Kurmitola area in the capital. According to her statement, she boarded on the university bus on the way to Kurmitola at around 5:30 pm and got out of the bus at around 7 pm. Later an unidentified man pressed her mouth and took her to a lone place. She was raped and physically assaulted there. At one stage she became unconscious. At around 10 pm she found herself at a lone place. Then she came to DMCH boarded on an auto-rickshaw. At around 12 am her classmates admitted her at the One stop Crisis Center (OCC) of the hospital. Father of the female student filed a written complaint with the police station over the incident of rape. He filed the complaint with Cantonment police station on Sunday night. AH      

An allegation has raised of raping a mother of six children at Subarnachar in Noakhali centering the voting of fourth phase upazila election. The incident took place at the fish farm of Ruhul Amin from Uttar Bagga village at around 7:30 pm on Sunday when she was returning from the voting center. The victim was admitted to Noakhali General Hospital at around 12 am. The victim alleged that she and her husband casted their votes at Samity Bazar Government Primary School under Char Jabbar union on Sunday. As they were the supporters of independent candidate Taj Uddin Babar, the supporters of another independent candidate Farhad Hossain Chowdhury Bahar threatened them. After getting scared they took shelter at one of their relatives’ home in the afternoon. Being worried about their children they were returning to their home at Paschim Char Jabbar on a motor cycle at around 8 pm. On their way Yusuf, Bechu Majhi and some others stopped them. At that time the terrorists beat the victim’s husband and tied his mouth. Then they took the woman to the banana garden of Ruhul Amin who was the main instigator of much discussed rape case during the last parliament election. The mother of six children was gang raped there. Additional Police Super of Noakhali Dipak Jyoti Khisa said that they have talked to the woman and her husband after getting the information. They have filed complain of gang rape. Action will be taken based on investigation. Drive is going on to detain the culprits. Resident Medical Officer of Noakhali General Hospital Syed Mahiuddin Azim said, one woman and her husband were admitted to the hospital in the night. The woman was raped. Her medical tests will be performed. AH
