Raped DU student suffering from trauma, breathlessness: DMCH Director
Director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Brigadier General AKM Nasir Uddin said, the rape victim Dhaka University female student is suffering from trauma, she is also suffering from breathlessness. There were marks of wound in her body. But efforts are going on to provide utmost medical services.
He said that the female student admitted at the hospital talked to the physicians on Monday.
The DMCH Director said, the patient has mental trauma and some marks of physical wound. As well as she mentioned about some problems and we also detected some. Expert physicians are providing treatment to her. At this moment it is uncomfortable to visit or talk to her.
About evidence of rape he said, DMCH forensic department is dealing with the matter of rape. As well as she is under intensive care of ENT department. As she is suffering from breathlessness, so we have decided to form a medical board comprising physicians of respiratory medicine and other departments.
The student complained that on Sunday evening she was raped after she got out of the university bus at Kurmitola area in the capital.
According to her statement, she boarded on the university bus on the way to Kurmitola at around 5:30 pm and got out of the bus at around 7 pm. Later an unidentified man pressed her mouth and took her to a lone place. She was raped and physically assaulted there. At one stage she became unconscious. At around 10 pm she found herself at a lone place. Then she came to DMCH boarded on an auto-rickshaw. At around 12 am her classmates admitted her at the One stop Crisis Center (OCC) of the hospital.
Father of the female student filed a written complaint with the police station over the incident of rape. He filed the complaint with Cantonment police station on Sunday night.
