Najmul Shanto: Prospect and Problem
Najmul Hossain Shanto is one of the top run scorers of Bangladesh Premier League. At the time of writing this report, Shanto is number two. Shanto's team Sylhet Strikers is one of the best teams in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League. They have not lose any match yet. Shanto's contribution is also playing a big role here. So far he has played an innings of 57 runs and two forties. Last week against Dhaka Dominators Shanto played an innings of 57 runs at a strike rate of 146. This is the main problem of Najmul Shanto in T20 cricket, he is not able to maintain this 146 strike rate. Still one of the best run scorers in BPL-2023 edition with a strike rate of 111. Among the top ten run scorers in the Bangladesh Premier League, Najmul Hossain Shanto has the lowest strike rate. In the top ten run scorers, no one's strike rate is below 120, except Afif Hossain's 119. The average strike rate of Najmul Shanto in the national team drops to 108. ODI strike rate of Najmul Hossain Shanto is shockingly bad (60). Bangladesh cricket analyst and first division cricketer Syed Abid Hussain Sami calls this strike rate normal. According to Sami, “Every team has a different game plan. As part of that plan, Sylhet wants Shanto to stay on the wicket for at least 15-16 overs of their batting innings. Implementing this plan, Shanto's strike rate is going down." Sami says that when you consider Najmul Hossain Shanto, you have to check the reality also. In international cricket, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has so far invested the most for Najmul Hossain Shanto. On the conrary, in international cricket the output has not been up to expectation so far. Syed Abid Hussain Sami says technical weakness of special bowlers is seen. Nazmul Hossain Shanto played for the national team for the first time in 2017. In six years, he also played 40 innings in international test cricket, averaging 25 runs. In fifteen ODIs, Najmul Hossain Shanto's average is just 14 runs. He was the most run-scoring batsman for Bangladesh in the 2022 T20 World Cup. In T20 World Cup, this opening batter of Bangladesh has batted at a strike rate of 114. Former Bangladeshi cricketer Aftab Ahmed thinks that the legside shot range of Najmul Shanto is less. He has to improve a lot.

There is problem between Rizvi and Fakhrul in BNP: Hasan
Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Hasan Mahmud said, I have come to know through newspapers and social media that there is a problem between BNP leaders Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. I would request BNP leaders to stop delivering meaningless speech while competing to criticize the Awami League General Secretary and other leaders. I would also request them to stay behind from the role of standing beside the drug addicts. He said these while delivering speech as the chief guest at a discussion titled ‘Conspiracy and lying by BNP and Jamaat against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’ organized by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote at the rehearsal room of Jatiya Shilpakala Academy on Monday. Hasan Mahmud said, BNP killed people with fire by pouring petrol on them. The speech of human rights does not suit to them. When the government took stance against the militants then BNP stood beside them. At present when the anti narcotic drive is going on they stand beside the drug addicts. BNP patronizes militants, drugs and drug addicts. He said, the anti liberation and the anti Bangabandhu forces took the path of killing Bangabandhu after being failed politically. Today the force is active against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina like the way they did conspiracy against Bangabandhu led by BNP and others. That type of conspiracy was revealed through the speech of Gias Uddin Quader Chowdhury. AH
