Executive Magistrate of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been transferred to expatriates welfare and overseas employment ministry. The ministry of public administration has issued a notification in this regard on Monday. But the order is not yet uploaded through online. Sarwar Alam has been performing his duty as the Executive Magistrate of RAB since 2015. He played an effective role for the government’s anti corruption campaign. In the last five years he conducted mobile courts against different irregularities and cheating. AH  

‘In the eleventh national parliament election political pressure has to be faced by fair apply of law by not indulging anger and by staying above of any kind of discrimination. Election atmosphere has to be maintained fair by using sense and merit. Not panic, the commission wants a reliable environment. The Election Commission is bound to the people for delivering a fair and neutral election.’ Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda said these at a directional workshop of Judicial Magistrates at the Nirbachan Bhaban at Arargaon in the capital on Monday. In the three days long workshop 215 Judicial Magistrates took part in the first phase briefing. The commission will brief total 640 Judicial Magistrates in three phases. The Magistrates will be deployed in election field on the day before election, on the election day and the day after election. CEC KM Nurul Huda said, you have to perform your duties based on the constitution and law. So, on the basis of the constitutional responsibility and liberty the electoral activities in fact have begun from today. The rest is your responsibilities on field. You are independent, you are neutral, you are the judge and you have to apply the mind of a judge. He said to the Judicial Magistrates, how you will hold the election in fair way, that you have to consider with your merit and wisdom. The commission is responsible to the constitution, nation, political parties and voters for holding a fair election. To attain confidence you have to perform your duties neutrally. In the briefing Election Commissioners Md. Rafiqul Islam, Begum Kabita Khanam, Brigadier General Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury (retd.) and Election Commission Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed were also present. AH

‘Unripe mangoes are being sold in the market. These mangoes are being ripened by spraying calcium carbide and other chemicals. Those are injurious to health. So you should not buy the ripe mangoes for the next 10 to 15 days,’ RAB headquarter executive magistrate Sarwar Alam said these to the newsmen after completing joint operation at Jatrabari fruit warehouse in the capital. RAB and BSTI mobile court conducted the joint operation on Thursday. Sarwar Alam said, the outer shapes of the mangoes seem ripe but these are ripened with injurious chemicals. He said, by eating these mangoes one can infected with diarrhea and other long term diseases. The magistrate said, during the operation one thousand maunds mangoes were damaged and 40 maunds of dates were seized.  The mobile court also ordered jail and fines of different terms for 9 individuals of six shops. According to the ‘Mango calendar’ of Agriculture Department all kinds of Guti mangoes will arrive in the market from May 20. Gopalbhog will arrive on May 25, Himsagor and Khirsapati on May 28. Lakkhonbhog will arrive on June 1, Lengra on June 5, Amrupali, Fazli and Surma Fazli on June 15. Ashina mango will begin to arrive from July 1. AH
