Eleventh grade admission process to begin from Sunday
Eleventh grade admission process from the students who have passed SSC and equivalent examinations will begin from Sunday. Deputy Minister for Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury will inaugurate the eleventh grade admission process through online at Dhaka education board auditorium at 12 pm on Sunday. Chairman of inter education board coordination sub-committee and Dhaka education board Chairman M. Ziaul Haque has informed that after the inauguration the students can apply for admission through online and SMS. The application submission through online and SMS will begin from May 12 and will continue till May 23. Those who applied for reexamination are also asked to apply in the same time. The admission process will have to be concluded by June and the classes will begin from July 1. Appeals of the students for scrutinize and objection will be solved from May 24 to 26. The students whose results will be changed after reexaminations can apply from June 3 to 4. According to the policy- those who have passed SSC and equivalent examinations under eight education boards, madrasa and technical boards in 2017, 2018 and 2019 can be admitted in eleventh grade. This year the age limit is fixed 22 years for the admission seekers instead of passing years under the Open University. Admission seekers can also apply for admission through SMS from Tele Talk mobile phone as well as online (www. Xiclassadmission. gov.bd). First phase merit list will be published on June 10. Candidates of this phase have to ensure about their admission through SMS in selected colleges from June 11 to 18. The second phase results will be published on June 21 and the third phase will be on June 25. The students selected in the second phase will have to ensure selection from June 22-23 and the third phase selected candidates have to ensure selection on June 26. After completion of admission process from June 27 to 30 the classes will begin from July 1. AH

Oath taking of eleventh parliament members valid: HC
The High Court has scrapped the writ petition challenging the legality of taking oath by the eleventh national parliament election winners as members of parliament by not dissolving the tenth parliament. The hearing of the writ concluded on February 6. In this regard the High Court bench comprising Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik Al Jalil scrapped the writ on Monday. On that day (February 6) the writ petitioner lawyers Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Sakib Mahbub took part in the hearing. Barrister AKM Ehsanur Rahman accompanied them. On the other hand Additional Attorney General Murad Reza and Md. Momtaz Uddin Fakir, Deputy Attorney General Motahar Hossain Saju and Mokhlesur Rahman and others stood for the state. Parliament Speaker, Chief Election Commissioner and Cabinet Secretary were served legal notice on January 8 over the incident of challenging the legality of oath taking by the elected members of eleventh national parliament by not dissolving the tenth parliament according to the constitution. Supreme Court Bar Association Secretary and BNP Joint Secretary General Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon sent the notice on behalf Supreme Court lawyer Md. Taherul Islam. The notice said, according to the section 123(3) of the constitution there is provision to hold the oath taking by the newly elected parliament members by dissolving the previous parliament. As the section was not followed and the parliament members took oath again, in that case two parliaments are existing at the moment which is against the constitution. Mentionable, as no answer was received then on January 15 Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon filed the writ with the concerned section of High Court. The hearing over the writ concluded on January 16 and on January 17 the High Court fixed the date for order. But the writ was scrapped showing reason as ‘not pressed’. Then Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon filed the writ petition afresh on the same ground. AH

Eleventh national election will be peaceful: DG of RAB
Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed said, eleventh national parliament election will be peaceful. Voters will exercise their voting rights in peaceful manner, without any hassle and form the new government. He said these at the annual general meeting of Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) at Segun Bagicha in the capital on Friday. Benazir Ahmed said, national parliament election will be held after one week. In the election voters will vote for their chosen candidates and will form the government. In election we along with the journalists will work together like the past. He said, though crime has reduced but new types of crimes are taking place. Crime Reporters can uphold those. Financial and cyber crimes are increasing. Lies and propaganda are being spread. The RAB DG said, the police force of today is not the police force of 20 years ago. Many changes have come. Crime Reporters are the most influential in media arena. Crime Reporters are called the heart of media. There is relation between poverty and crime. Crimes have reduced as poverty is reduced. He also said, earlier there were personal relations between journalists and police officials. Breaking that we have begun the work of establishing professional relations. AIG of police headquarters Sohel Rana delivered speech in the program. CRAB president Abu Saleh Akon delivered concluding speech. CRAB general secretary Sarwar Alam moderated the program. MAX Group chairman engineer Alamgir Hossain, RAB ADG (Ops) Colonel Jahangir Alam and ADG (Admin) Jamil Ahmed were present as the special guests in the program. AH
