A shooting between two rival groups at an Eid al-Fitr event injured three, including a 15-year-old suspect. Police have taken five people into custody. Gunfire was exchanged at an Eid al-Fitr event outside a mosque in Philadelphia between two rival groups, injuring at least three people. Around 30 shots were fired at the Muslim celebration marking the end of the month of Ramadan around 2:30 p.m. local time, police said. Around 1,000 people were present at the event, including many children.  The event occurred at Clara Muhammad Square. Many people ran to tents near the park, hid behind trees or dropped to the ground and shielded children. One man was shot in the stomach, and a juvenile victim had a wound to the hand, police said. Five taken into custody Five people have been taken into custody, including a 15-year-old who was shot by the police in the leg and shoulder and taken to the hospital. The suspects include four males and a female. Five guns were also confiscated. Possible motives for the shooting have not yet been determined. "We are very, very fortunate today that we did not have more individuals shot and anyone killed. Ninety-nine percent of the people attending this event were good people who wanted to have a good time," Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said in a press conference. "This is just a celebration of life for God to forgive us for our sins. There's one month that God chains the devil down, so whoever did this can't even blame the devil," Zania Weatherford, who was present near the venue, told AP news agency. "All my years of living in Philadelphia, I've never seen nothing like this, especially at the masjid. Just as much crime as it may be in Philadelphia. It was always separated from the masjid," said Thomas Allen, who was at the Philadelphia Masjid.  

Millions of devotees from different parts of the country performed the holy Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the historic Gor-E-Shaheed Eidgah Maidan in Dinajpur with enthusiasm. An atmosphere of amity is created here around the Eid Jamaat.  The Eid congregation was held on Thursday (April 11th) at 9 am with the participation of millions of devotees. Mawlana Shamsul Alam Kashemi led the congregation. After the prayers, a munajat was offered seeking peace of the country, the nation and the Muslim Ummah. Meanwhile, strong security measures were taken throughout the Eidgah grounds. Police, BGB, RAB, Ansar and volunteers performed the duties in the four-tier security system. Devotees from different parts of the country expressed satisfaction over the smooth and peaceful prayers in flawless security.  

Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across Bangladesh on Thursday (April 11) as the moon of Shawwal has been sighted in the sky of the country. Earlier, the meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee was held at 6.30 pm at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. Religious affairs minister and National Moon Sighting Committee President Md Faridul Haque Khan presided the meeting. As the moon of Shawwal month was not sighted in the country on Tuesday, the 30th Ramadan ended on Wednesday. As a result, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Thursday (April 11).   

Metro rail services will be closed for two during Eid-ul-Fitr. As a result, the metro rail movement will be closed for two consecutive days on the occasion of Eid. The day after Eid al-Fitr is Friday. That day is the weekly holiday of Metro rail.  Nazmul Islam Bhuiyan, deputy manager of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), confirmed the matter on Wednesday morning (April 10). He said, according to the previous announcement, the metro rail will be closed on the Eid day. Metro services were also suspended on Eid last year. Nazmul Islam Bhuiyan said in the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, an average of 2,40,000 passengers traveled daily on the metro rail. Before Ramadan, the number was 295,000. The number of passengers has increased after the metro rail increased by one hour from 16 Ramadan. In the last five days, an average of 2 lakh 90 thousand passengers have traveled.  

The moon of the holy month of Shawwal was not sighted in the sky of the country. As a result, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Thursday (April 11). The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting committee on Tuesday (April 9) evening. Eid-ul-Fitr "festival of breaking the fast" will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia and other European countries on Wednesday (April 10) as the moon of the holy month of Shawwal was not sighted in the Middle East on Monday (April 8). Meanwhile, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in different districts of Bangladesh on Wednesday (April 10) in conformity with Saudi Arabia.  

Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday (April 10) as the Shawwal crescent was not sighted. The Saudi Supreme Court confirmed this information in an announcement on Monday (April 8). This time Fasting will last for 30 days in the country. Earlier on Saturday (April 6), the country's Supreme Court called for sighting the moon of Eid on Monday evening. According to the order of the Supreme Court, millions of Muslims kept their eyes in the western sky after Maghrib prayers on this day. But shortly afterwards, the Saudi Supreme Court said that the moon of Shawwal was not sighted. Therefore, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday (April 10).

On Sunday (April 7), Shoppers are in a rush to shopping malls, centres and roadside shops in the capital's New Market, Bashundhara City, Aarong and Jamuna Future Park in the capital as Eid shopping gets its peak. People of all classes are buying the necessary items as per their choice. But there are also allegations of overcharging.  As Most of the people will leave the capital for village homes ahead of Eid ul-Fitr, so shoppers are in rush to finish Eid shopping. Traders said that although there is Eid shopping throughout the month, at the last moment, there is a huge crowd every time. As time goes on, sales are increasing. Hopefully, this will continue to be a great sale till the day before Eid. The last time shopping is going on everywhere. People are buying clothes, shoes, cosmetics, ornaments and other necessities for their loved ones.  

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner, Md Habibur Rahman has said there is no threat to the upcoming Eid ul-Fitr. Besides, special security measures have been taken for 24 hours in Dhaka during the Eid holidays. He said this at a press conference after visiting the Eid market at Bashundhara Shopping Complex in the capital on Tuesday noon (April 2). DMP commissioner said, "There is no threat centering the Eid festival. As The capital becomes empty during the long Eid holidays. Security has been arranged keeping this in mind in the security plan." He said about 1.5 crore people will go out of Dhaka during the Eid holidays. At this time Dhaka city remains empty. So we would advise the city dwellers to be aware of their valuables and be aware. Special security measures have been taken by the police for 24 hours ahead of Eid.  

The National Eidgah Maidan in the capital is being prepared for the main Eid-ul-Fitr jamaat (congregation). The main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at 8:30 am. Md Abu Bakr Siddque, public relation officer of Religious Affairs Ministry confirmed this information to the media on Monday (March 25). However,  But if the weather is unfavourable, for any reason, the main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at National Mosque Baitul Mukarram at 9 am. Besides, a total of five Eid congregations will be held at National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. The first congregation will be held at 7 am. Abu Bakar Siddique said that the last congregation will be held at 10:45 am.

The sale of advance bus tickets on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr has started from today (March 22). Passengers can collect tickets from different counters in the capital. Ramesh Chandra Ghosh, Chairman of Bangladesh Bus Truck Owners' Association, confirmed the matter on Friday (March 22). According to Bangladesh Bus Truck Owners' Association, advance tickets will be available at all inter-district bus counters from Friday morning. At the same time, passengers can collect advance tickets online. Ramesh Chandra Ghosh said that bus fares will be charged as per the fixed fare of BRTA. No extra fare can be charged outside the fare list. All bus owners have been instructed to do so. Meanwhile, 'busbd.com.bd', an associate of the bus companies' online ticket sales, said in a special notice that advance bus tickets on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr will be sold online from today (March 22).
