At least eight people were killed after two passenger trains collided in southern India on Sunday, officials said. At least 25 people were injured in the crash, officials said. The crash happened in Andhra Pradesh's Vizianagaram district.  An incoming train slammed into a stationary train, derailing at least three rail cars, senior railway officer Saurab Prasad told Associated Press news agency. The Indian Railway Ministry said in a statement that two coaches were derailed. A preliminary investigation found that "human error" caused by "overshooting of signal" had led to the collision, the ministry said. Train crashes are common in India and are often blamed on human error or outdated signaling equipment. In June, an error in the electronic signaling system led a train to wrongly change tracks and crash into a freight train in the eastern Odisha state. The accident killed more than 280 people and was one of the country's deadliest crashes in decades. More than 12 million people ride 14,000 trains across India every day, traveling on 64,000 kilometers (40,000 miles) of track.

Three people, including a woman and her son, were killed and two others were injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Raipura upazila of Narsingdi district. So far 14 people died in a collision between 3 buses and a truck in Madhya Pradesh, India.  In this incident, Fifty more people were injured. The condition of 13 of the injured is critical. Local time on Friday, February 24, After the religious ceremony 'Kol Mahakumbh' in Satna district, people were returning in buses.  A truck rammed into 3 buses from behind during a travel break near Mohania tunnel on Rewa-Satna border. According to the police, the accident took place due to the failure of the truck.  Amit Shah, the Minister of Home Affairs of India, expressed grief over the incident and assured the injured to get proper treatment.

Head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw occurred at Shajahanpur Upazila in Bogura.  In this accident, death toll climbed to five. Besides, one person is under treatment in the hospital. On Thursday, February 23 at around 12:30 pm, the incident took place in Shujabad Dahapara area of the upazila.  The names of three people who were injured and dead in the accident have been identified. They are: Auto driver Hazrat Ali (50), a resident of Kadamtali in Gabtali upazila, autorickshaw passenger Golam Rabbani Badsha (60) and Shahana Begum (38). The others identity were not known. Shajahanpur police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdur Rahman confirmed the matter.

At least 17 people, including women and children, were killed when a passenger bus collided with a speeding truck near a tunnel in northwestern Pakistan. A rescue officer confirmed this information early today, Friday, February 03. The accident occurred in Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to local emergency officials and state-run media.  Rescue officer Rahmat Ullah said, "We brought the deceased and injured to a hospital in Kohat." TV footage showed images of the wrecked bus. Chief Minister of the province Azam Khan expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic accident.

Six people were killed in an ambulance-truck collision in front of the toll plaza at the Zajira point of the Padma Bridge. The accident took place on Tuesday morning. The identities of those killed in the crash were not immediately known. It is known that all the victims were ambulance passengers. Their bodies are being brought to Zajira Upazila Health Complex. Padma Bridge South Police Station SI Shuruj Uddin Ahmed said, "The ambulance was going to Dhaka from Barishal. The ambulance collided with a truck when it reached the Naudoba Bridge area of the Zajira point Expressway."

Two buses collided at Taraganj Upazila of Rangpur district. Two died on the spot and one died at the Upazila Health Complex. In this incident, at least 10 to 15 people were injured. At around 7:30 am, the accident occurred in the Chikli Doalipara intersection of Rangpur-Dinajpur highway of the upazila on Tuesday, January 10. The deceased identity is not yet known. The injured have been admitted to the Upazila Health Complex and Rangpur Medical College Hospital. Taraganj Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Mohammad Mahbub Morshed confirmed the matter. According to police and eyewitnesses, "Symon Paribahan collided head-on with Tripti Paribahan bound for Rangpur from Saidpur of Nilphamari. Two died on the spot. When the injured were taken to the Upazila Health Complex, another person died there. Many injured have been sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital."

5 people were killed in a three-way collision between Truck-Autorickshaw-Ambulance at Nengtichira area of Rangpur. In this accident, four people died on the spot and one person is undergoing treatment in the hospital.  However, name and address were not initially known.  The accident took place on Monday (December 19) around 7 pm near the Nengtichira bridge in Taraganj on the Rangpur-Dinajpur highway. Traffic on the road has been stopped due to this incident. Police are trying to normalize the situation.

11 passengers died on Friday afternoon when a speedy train hit a microbus while passing the level crossing at Baratakia rail station area at Mirsarai in Chattogram. Three more critically injured people were admitted to hospital. According to the eyewitnesses, the microbus tried to cross the level crossing when the intercity train Mohanagar Provati was on the rail track with its speed. The train collided with the microbus on the level crossing. The passengers of the microbus were returning to Chattogram after visiting the Khayachhara fountain tourist spot. Syed Ahmed, Sub-inspector of Mirsarai police station confirmed about the casualties. Bangladesh Raiway East Zone General Manager Jahangir Hossain said, we are investigating the matter. AH  

At least 10 people were killed in a head on collision between a bus and a truck in Jhenaidah. The accident occurred at around 3:30 pm on Wednesday. The number of casualties may rise, said sources. Mamunur Rashid, Duty Officer of Kaliganj fire station confirmed the information. Mahfuzur Rahman, Officer in Charge of Kaliganj police station confirmed the information and said, rescue operations are going on by fire service and police members. The identities of the deceased and injured are yet to confirm. The injured have been rushed to different hospitals in the district. AH
