Ailing former MP Yusuf taken to Dhaka CMH
The ailing former Member of Parliament Mohammad Yusuf has been taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka on Tuesday for his better treatment. According to the decision of the medical board of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), an ambulance with Intensive Care Unit (ICU) facilities has started towards Dhaka with ailing former MP Yousuf at 4 pm on Tuesday, Chittagong City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin and Civil Surgeon Azizur Rahman Siddique told this.  The doctors have been kept Yusuf under observation for last two days and he was taken to Dhaka as his health condition slightly improved, said the Civil Surgeon. The kidney of Mohammad Yusuf is weak and he has some infectious wounds in his body, he added.    City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, Chittagong District Council Chairman M A Salam, Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Zillur Rahman Chowdhury, Civil Surgeon Azizur Rahman Siddique and Director of CMCH Brigadier General Md. Jalal Uddin were present before his departure. Mohammad Yusuf was admitted at the ICU of CMCH on Sunday by the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The premier gave the direction while the news of the former MP’s health and living condition came to her notice through social media The Prime Minister also asked the Chittagong Deputy Commissioner to take necessary steps for his better treatment. Following her directive the government is bearing the expense of his treatment.  He was an elected Member of Parliament from Rangunia constituency in 1991 by defeating the then war criminal and NDP chief late Salauddin Quader Chowdhury.
