Film actress Puja Cherry's mother Jharna Roy passes away. She breathed her last at his home in Mirpur on Sunday (24 March) at around 11 am. According to some sources, Jharna Roy was suffering from illness. Abdul Aziz, the chief executive officer of Jaaz Multimedia, confirmed the news of the death of the actress's mother. Abdul Aziz said that Jharna Roy had been suffering from illness for a long time from various medical conditions. She was a diabetic patient and her diabetes level had increased as well. A few weeks ago, her physical condition started deteriorating. As a result, she was taken to a hospital in Mirpur. There she underwent treatment for 15 days with seven days in an ICU. When she recovered, she was taken home when her condition improved.  However, Pooja made her debut in film as a child artist in the movie 'Bhalobashar Rong'. Later in 2018, she made her debut as a heroine on the big screen with 'Noor Jahan'.

Popular singer and Chime band vocalist Khalid passes away. He breathed his last at 7:15 pm on Monday (March 18) at a hospital in the capital's Green Road. The news of Khalid's death was confirmed by band singer Isha Khan Durrey. Khalid is the artist of many popular songs like 'Sorolotar protima', ' Hoyni jabaro bela', ' 'Jodi  himalay hoye dukkho ashe', Khalid is an artist of many such popular songs.   

Rabindra Sangeet singer Sadi Mohammad is no more. He committed suicide.  The news of his death was received on Wednesday (March 13) at around 9 pm. The news of his death was confirmed by his brother dancer Shibli Mohammad. Shibli told to the reporters that his elder brother was practicing music with Tanpura in his room this evening. Shibli suddenly saw the door of the room closed. Then he broke open the door and recovered his hanging body.   

Popular actor Ahmed Rubel has passed away  today (Feb 7). Director Nurul Alam Atique confirmed the news  on Wednesday (February 7) evening.    There was a special screening of Nurul Alam Atiq's new movie at Star Cineplex in Bashundhara City. Ahmed Rubel played an important role along with Jaya Ahsan in the movie. He was on the way to Bashundhara City with director Nurul Alam Atiq to attend this exhibition this evening. Ahmed Rubel was rushed to hospital as he suddenly felt ill. The on duty doctor declared him dead. Ahmed Rubel was only 55 years old till his last breath. However, His sudden death comes like a bolt from the blue to the whole entertainment community.

Former Communications Minister, ex-lawmaker and valiant Freedom Fighter Syed Abul Hossain died of cardiac arrest at a city hospital early today at the age of 72. "The former minister breathed his last around 2:05am on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at United Hospital in the city", family sources said. He is survived by wife, two daughters and a host of relatives and admirers. As his children are now abroad, the decision about his burial would be taken after their returns to the country. Abul Hossain was elected lawmaker from Madaripur-3 constituency in 1991 as an Awami League candidate. Then he was also elected lawmakers for another three times. He served as communications minister of the government led by the Awami League from 2009 to 2012. He was born in Madaripur district in 1951.

Member of Parliament for Patuakhali-1 constituency, former state minister for Religious Affairs and Patuakhali district unit Awami League president Advocate Shahjahan Mia has passed away.  He was 83. at  Around 6 am on Saturday, October 21 he breathed his last at a private hospital. His son Advocate Tarikuzzaman Moni, general secretary of Patuakhali Municipal Awami League, confirmed the news. He said, former state minister had been suffering from various old age complications and undergoing treatment for a long time. He was a lawyer by profession and a prominent politician. He served as the president of Patuakhali district unit Awami League from 1991 to 2019. He served as the State Minister of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in the ninth national parliament of 2008. He was elected Member of Parliament from Patuakhali-1 Constituency as an Awami League candidate in the seventh, ninth and eleventh national parliament elections.

Advocate Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan, former State Minister for Land and Member of Parliament from Brahmanbaria-2 (Sarail-Ashuganj) Constituency. Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan died at a hospital in Dhaka in the early hours of today at the age of 84. More to follow....

Zeenat Barkatullah passed away on Wednesday due to old-age complications. She was 72 years old. She is survived by two daughters- actress Bijori Barkatullah and Nusrat Barkatullah Kajori. The renowned dancer and actress was ill for last 2 years. She was admitted to hospitals in several phases. She was put on life support when her health condition deteriorated.  She received Ekushey Padak in 2022 for her contribution to dance. She also received prestigious awards, including the UNESCO award, Natya Sabha Award, BACHSAS Award and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Award.

Filmmaker Syed Salahuddin Zaki is no more. He breathed his last at 11:53 PM on Monday, September 18 at the United Hospital in Gulshan of the capital. Faridur Reza Sagor, Managing Director of Channel I confirmed the information. In 1980, Syed Salahuddin Zaki received the National Film Award for Best Screenplay for 'Ghuddi'. He was also known as a scriptwriter, actor, and author.  His health was deteriorated in the last evening at his Dhanmondi residence. Then he was quickly taken to the United Hospital in Gulshan. But the doctors said he had passed away.
