Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 42 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs from different areas in the capital. During the operation, 8511 pieces Yaba, 90 bottles phensedyl, 44 gm heroin, 8 bottles liquor and 8 kg 225 gm Cannabis were seized. As part of regular anti-narcotics operation, Dhaka Metropolitan Police conducted operation in various areas of the capital from March 6,2023 to today 6 am in the morning. Under the Narcotics Control Act,  28 cases have been registered against the arrested in the concerned police stations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 47 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs from different areas in the capital. During the operation, 46762 pieces Yaba, 5 bottles phensedyl, 24 gm 60 Puria heroin, 6 bottles liquor and 100 kg 40 gm Cannabis were seized. As part of regular anti-narcotics operation, Dhaka Metropolitan Police conducted operation in various areas of the capital from February 27,2023 to today 6 am in the morning. Under the Narcotics Control Act,  39 cases have been registered against the arrested in the concerned police stations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 67 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs from different areas in the capital. During the operation, 3179 pieces Yaba, 40 bottles phensedyl, 10 gm 80 Puria heroin, 80 kg 960 gm Cannabis were seized. As part of regular anti-narcotics operation, Dhaka Metropolitan Police conducted operation in various areas of the capital from February 24,2023 to today 6 am in the morning. Under the Narcotics Control Act,  47 cases have been registered against the arrested in the concerned police stations.

On charges of selling and consuming drugs, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 39 people from different areas in the capital. During the operation, 1,052 pieces Yaba, 11 grams 337 Puria Heroin, 2 kg 100 grams 80 Puria Cannabis, 148 bottles Phensedyl and 2 bottles Liquor were seized. As part of regular anti-narcotics operation, Dhaka Metropolitan Police conducted operation in various areas of the capital. Under the Narcotics Control Act,  25 cases have been registered against the arrested in the concerned police stations.

On charges of selling and consuming drugs, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 59 people in different areas in the capital. During the operation, 5083 pieces of Yaba, 145 grams of heroin, 54 kg of 925 grams 34 Puria Cannabis, 25 narcotic injections and 59 bottles of Phensedyl were seized. As part of regular anti-narcotics operation, Dhaka Metropolitan Police conducted operation in various areas of the capital. Under the Narcotics Control Act,  45 cases have been registered against the arrested in the concerned police stations.

Five people were killed in a blast in northwestern area on Tuesday, including an influential anti-Taliban tribal leader, police said, in the first major bombing in over a decade in an area that was once a battleground between security forces and militants.   The attack comes as fears rise about the return of Pakistani Taliban, also known as the TTP, to the Swat area, and peace talks between security forces and militants, that started last year, have failed.   Peace committee leader Idrees Khan’s vehicle drove over an improvised explosive device, killing him and two bodyguards, Swat police officer Zahid Marwat told Reuters.   Source: Business Recorder

The premier said this at the inaugural program of 10-day long celebration of Mujib Borsho and golden jubilee of independence at the National Parade Ground on Wednesday afternoon. Reiterating her firm credence to build a Sonar Bangla as dreamed by Bangabandhu she said, we will build the country free from exploitation, illiteracy, poverty and hunger and as a none-communal Golden Bengal dreamt by Bangabandhu, InshaAllah. The Prime Minister said, the wait for economic emancipation of the people of Bangladesh is going to be ended. We are going to celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and golden jubilee of independence of Bangladesh in a time when it has achieved the final recommendation for graduating into the dignity of developing country from the list of least developed countries. President M. Abdul Hamid, President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Prime Minister’s sister Sheikh Rehana were present in the program. AH      

Police will take strict and legal action against the people who would organize anti Modi meeting and procession centering the upcoming visit of Indian Prime Minister Narenda Modi to Bangladesh. Special Branch (SB) chief and acting DMP commissioner Md. Monirul Islam said this. He said this while briefing the newsmen about the upcoming Bangladesh visit of different state and government chiefs on the occasion of birth centenary of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and golden jubilee of independence. Monirul Islam said, those who are holding meeting, processions should be conscious about the real fact. Otherwise legal action will be taken against them. He urged the political parties for not declaring political programs during the programs of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary and golden jubilee of independence. He said, I request them for not announcing political programs as VVIP guests would come. Monirul Islam said, there might be some problems for people’s movement as the programs would run from March 17 to 26. I request the people to start to attend their offices or examinations before the scheduled time. People should sacrifice considering the honor of the state. AH     

President of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh and former president of the country Dr. AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury said, Bikalpa Dhara will not sit for any meeting with BNP if they do not leave companion of anti liberation forces. He said this at a press conference held at his own residence at Baridhara in the capital on Saturday night. About not joining the newly formed political alliance Jatiya Oikya Front B. Chowdhury said, Bikalpa Dhara gave condition to BNP, it will join the Jatiya Oikya if BNP leaves companion of Jamaat. But BNP did not maintain that condition. For that reason Bikalpa Dhara did not join Jatiya Oikya Front. Bikalpa Dhara secretary general Major Mannan (retd) and joint secretary general Mahi B. Chowdhury and other party leaders were present at the press conference. Earlier at a press conference at the National Press Club announcement was given to form new political alliance Jatiya Oikya Front under leadership of Dr. Kamal Hossain. Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna announced 7 point demand and 11 point vision for the alliance. Dr. Kamal Hossain, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Moudud Ahmed, Khondoker Mosharraf Hosain, JSD president ASM Abdur Rab and others were present in the press conference. Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, former chief justice SK Sinha could have published the book in different time by not publishing it at the moment. Why he published the book keeping the election in front? It could be published after two or three months. Anti government people are incited by publishing the book. He might not make the incitement of propaganda at this time. He said these to the newsmen while visiting development activities of Dhaka-Tangail and Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Bhogra in Gazipur on Friday. Obaidul Quader said, question rises over his responsibilities as a chief justice if he publishes the book after going abroad with imaginary information to get the anti government people chance for doing propaganda. He himself has stepped down from the post of chief justice. The minister said, Digital Security Act will not create any obstacle to independent journalism. It is formulated for preventing the digital crimes. Measures were taken for digital security. There is no reason to be concerned or panicked. Replying to a question Quader welcomed the Juktafront and Oikya Prokria led by Dr. Kamal and B Chowdhury. He said, the government has no headache over this type of process keeping ahead the election. We believe that Sheikh Hasina has gained confidence from the people through development and good governance. We will be able to harvest the golden crops in the next election.
