Animals begin to arrive in capital’s haats
This year 23 haats (cattle market) are arranged in the capital. Of these there are 10 animal haats under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and 13 under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). The two city corporations have declared not for arranging any haat beyond the leased haats in the fixed areas. The law enforcing agencies are in firm stance to stop every kind of cheating such as activities of Ogyan Party and spreading forged notes centering the haats. By this time the buyers have begun to come in the sacrificial beast haats.
Gabtali haat is the lone permanent beast haat in the capital. But on the occasion of Qurbani temporary haats are arranged throughout the capital. The haats arranged under DNCC area are- Uttara sector 15, North of 300 feet road-Basundhara Housing, Khilkhet Banarupa, Bhatara (Sayeed Nagar), play ground of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute, Mohammadpur Buddhijibi road, Mirpur section 6- Eastern Housing, vacant ground of Mirpur DOHS and Uttar Khan Moinar Tek Shaheed Nagar Housing. Another trader Rahim said, after arriving in the haat no problem has arisen. There is a little problem of water.
Lessee of Khilkhet Banarupa haat Mostak Ahmed said, we will place the demand to the administration that nobody would arrange cattle haat creating traffic congestion on roads illegally.
Meanwhile city corporation authority said that nobody will be spared to maintain discipline. They will take strict measures in this regard.
DNCC Chief Executive Officer Md. Mesbahul Islam said, maximum haats are arranged in the far end of the city. The matters are considered so that traffic congestion is not created and people need not to face problems.
He also said, no haat will be allowed to arrange beyond the fixed haats. As well as there will be arrangements to identify counterfeit notes. Law enforcing agencies are vigilant to prevent activities of unscrupulous rackets.
RAB’s legal and media wing chief Mufti Mahmud Khan said, sometimes accidents take place by taking food from Ogyan and Molom party. Considering the matters we have taken measures centering the haats. Measures will be taken so that forged notes won’t spread at any cost.
