Attempts are going on to kill me: Quader Mirza

Bangladesh Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader’s younger brother and recently elected Mayor of Basurhat municipality Abdul Quader Mirza alleged, attempts are going on to kill me. The administration is harassing my party leaders and activists often.

His allegation came in at a press conference held at the Basurhat municipality office complex on Saturday morning.

Quader Mirza said, seven to eight leaders and activists of mine were arrested in last few days. Detective Branch police is conducting operation at the houses of the leaders and workers of mine. They are harassing my family. Even the administration is working against me. On Friday plots were made to kill me at MP Ekram’s house.

He said, I am not feeling insecure but my party activists and leaders are feeling insecure. I will not move from here until the last drop of blood remains in my body. I want judicial investigation of the killings of journalist Mujakkir and CNG-run auto rickshaw driver Alauddin. I would request the Prime Minister to investigate the matter by NSI and DGFI. If I or any activist of mine is proved as guilty then I will accept any punishment that she gives me.
