Cancelling ‘Bir Uttam’ title of Zia not possible: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, you know this government is illegally trying to cancel ‘Bir Uttam’ title of late president Ziaur Rahman. But they do not know that it is not possible to cancel this title with their desire.

He said this at the inauguration event of BNP’s year long programs on the occasion of golden jubilee of independence held at Hotel Lakeshore in the capital on Monday.

The BNP Secretary General said, Begum Khaleda Zia was imprisoned three times for her role to save democracy of this country. Numbers of leaders and activists are in prison during the tenure of this government. Even many died in the jail like Nasir Uddin Pintu.

Mirza Fakhrul said, the country is not being ruled according to the constitution. There is no right of vote, elections are held without voter. This government came to power through vote decoity. This government has broken all the dreams of hope and expectation. We want to show dream to the people. We want to pay respect to every freedom fighter. We want to evaluate each and every people of this country. So, let’s work unitedly after 50 years of independence to fulfill the dreams.
