Former AL lawmaker Maqbul Hossain dies from Covid-19
Awami League leader and former lawmaker from capital’s Mohammadpur area Hazi Maqbul Hossain died from Covid-19.
He died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) at 9 pm on Sunday. His Personal Assistant Fazlur Rahman confirmed the matter.
Alhaj Maqbul Hossain was elected Member of Parliament from capital’s Dhanmondi-Mohammadpur area in 1996. Currently he was serving as the member of Awami League central advisory council.
He was the owner of Shamarita Medical College Hospital, Sandhani Life Insurance, Purabi General Insurance Company. He also owned City University and also had a college named after him. He also owned Amico Laboratories, Panna Textiles, Mona Finance and others.
Member of Parliament elected from Tangail-6 constituency of Bangladesh Awami League Ahsanul Alam Titu is his son.
