PM herself working as a campaigner: Quader

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, people from more than one hundred and twenty five countries in the world including America and Europe have been infected with coronavirus. Some heads of state also infected with the virus. When the disease has turned into a pandemic, at the same time Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself is working as a campaigner to create awareness to combat the coronavirus.

He said these at a press conference held at the Awami League president’s political office at Dhanmondi in the capital on Friday.

Obaidul Quader said, the party which cancelled the Mujib Year programs due to the corona situation, what else they will do? There is no lack of sincerity on behalf of the government and us. But there are some shortages of machineries, which will be met soon.

He said, three patients including two Italy returnees were infected with coronavirus and they are well at the moment. It is a global crisis but so far Bangladesh is out of danger. In this situation countrymen have to be alert by not getting worried.

At the introductory phase of the awareness campaign Awami League presidium member Matia Chowdhury, Jubo League chairman Fazle Shams Parash and other leaders were present.
