Bangladesh Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced removing of ‘acting’ tag from the posts of president and general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL). The acting president Al Nahian Khan Joy and acting general secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee have been made full president and general secretary respectively.

The announcement of Sheikh Hasina came at the discussion of 72nd founding anniversary of BCL at historical Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on Saturday.

Mentionable, on September 14 last year the then BCL president Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury and general secretary Golam Rabbani were removed from their posts over allegation of corruption. From that period Al Nahian Khan and Lekhak Bhattacharjee were performing their responsibilities as the acting president and general secretary respectively.
