BNP-Oikya Front leaders did not join AL council

The BNP and Jatiya Oikya Front leaders did not join the 21st national council of Bangladesh Awami League though they were invited. AL invited the party leaders of Oikya Front on Thursday but at that time its top leader Dr. Kamal Hossain was not available in the country.

After returning from Thailand on Thursday night Dr. Kamal Hossain talked to Oikya Front’s main component BNP’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. After the telephone conversation of two top leaders of the alliance, the message was sent to other components that none from Jatiya Oikya Front would join the national council of Awami League.

On Friday afternoon Gono Forum executive president and one of the members of Oikya Front steering committee Advocate Subrata Roy said, after his arrival in the night Dr. Kamal Hossain talked to Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir over phone and decided that none from Jatiya Oikya Front would join the national council of Awami league.

Mentionable, to whom the Prime Minister exchanged views at Ganabhaban before the eleventh national parliament election were invited in the AL council.

As part of this, four leaders from BNP, three from Gono Forum, two from JSD and one from Nagarik Oikya were invited as components of Jatiya Oikya Front.
