Election Commission (EC) Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed said, the percentage of votes casted in election is not a matter. We have no headache in this regard. The matter is that the election was held in a peaceful manner.

He said these at a press conference at the media center of Nirbachan Bhaban at Agargaon in the capital on Sunday.

Helal Uddin Ahmed said, in the first phase upazila election 34 percent votes were casted and the percentage was 41 in the second phase. We hope in the third phase voting the percentage will be 45.

He said to the newsmen, one political party is not participating in the election. On the other hand they have campaign for the voters for not coming in the vote centers. You have to consider the matters.

The EC Secretary said, our key factor is to see whether the election is holding in a peaceful manner or not. The voting in the third phase of fifth upazila council election was held in a peaceful manner as a whole.
