Education Minister urges universities to take combined admission test

Most of the public universities have agreed to take combined admission test to avert sufferings of the students in this coronavirus situation. Quoting Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni the information was delivered through a press release of the education ministry.

The education ministry and University Grants Commission (UGC) are trying to hold integrated admission test for the public universities for long period to avert the sufferings of students and guardians, to save money and the to solve the residential problems while appearing for the examinations.

The education ministry said, in the present context of coronavirus pandemic situation travel of students in the public transport and their movement across the country can help transmission of the virus at a larger scale.

In this regard Education Minister Dipu Moni said, most of the universities have informed about their consensus. Even Chancellor of the universities and President has expressed his eagerness clearly. In this situation on Sunday four Vice Chancellors have taken a positive decision after holding virtual meeting.

The meeting was organized with participation of Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Md. Akhtaruzzaman, BUET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Satyaprasad Majumder, Rajshahi University Vice Chancellor Professor Abdus Sobhan and Jahangir Nagar University Vice Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam.
