JSC-JDC exams won’t be held this year

The Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations of the year 2020 will not be held due to coronavirus situation. The information was delivered through a press release sent by Information and Public Relations Officer MA Khayer of the education ministry on Thursday.

All the educational institutions have been closed since March 18 due to coronavirus situation. As the situation has not turned into normal, so decision was taken to remain the educational institutions closed till October 3.

In a notice of the education ministry it was said that the ongoing leave in the educational institutions has been extended up to October 3 due to world wide coronavirus situation except qawmi madrasas.

As the leave has been extended for one more month, so there is no possibility to hold the HSC examinations within next one and half months, said the concerned.

According to the education ministry, the gist of the proposal for cancelling the JSC and JDC examinations was sent to the Prime Minister on August 23. The premier gave consent to the proposal. The consent letter was sent to secondary and higher education department on Thursday.
