Govt to establish 8 more universities: Education Minister

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has said, the government has plans to establish university in each district of the country through private and government initiatives. With this continuation steps are going on to establish 8 more universities in the country under government initiatives.
While answering to a question of ruling party MP M Abdul Latif in the Jatiya Sangsad the minister said, the initiatives will be taken for ensuring higher education for entire people from rich to poor.
The minister said, under this activity the government established 3 public universities from 2014 to till at present and also gave permission to operate and establish 16 private universities.
Nurul Islam Nahid said, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Science and Technology University act was also passed in the parliament. Sheikh Hasina University act-2017 is under process for approval in the parliament.
He said, steps are going on to finalize the draft of establishing six more universities in the ministry. Those are, Habiganj Agriculture University, Lakshmipur Science and Technology University, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Aviation and Aerospace University, Dhaka, Hazi Asmat Science and Technology University, Kishoreganj, Chandpur Science and Technology University and Bogra Science and Technology University.
