Gold has to be purchased at Tk 60 thousand per bhori

Prices of gold have increased in country’s market at the beginning of new year. Within 15 days difference prices of 22, 21, 18 carat and old method gold have increased by 1 thousand 166 taka per bhori.

The new prices will be effective from tomorrow (Sunday). The information was delivered through a notice of Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) issued on Saturday.

Earlier, on December 18 of last year prices of gold were increased. According to the new price list fixed by BAJUS, the price of 22 carat gold is fixed at 60 thousand 361 taka per bhori. Till Saturday it was 59 thousand 194 taka per bhori.

The price of 21 carat gold is fixed at 58 thousand 28 taka per bhori. The previous price was 56 thousand 862 taka per bhori. The price of 18 carat gold is fixed at 53 thousand 13 taka which was 51 thousand 846 taka per bhori.

The new price of old method gold is fixed at 40 thousand 140 taka per bhori which was 39 thousand 74 taka.

Besides, the price of 21 carat cadmium silver is fixed at 933 taka per bhori.

The new prices have been fixed in accordance with the prices in international gold market, said BAJUS general secretary Dilip Kumar Agarwala.
