CNG stations to remain closed 5 pm-11 pm during Ramadan

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid Bipu said, CNG filling stations will remain closed from 5 pm to 11 pm during the holy month of Ramadan. The steps have been taken for uninterrupted electricity supply in the month of Ramadan. Gas supply will increase in the power stations if CNG filling stations are closed. Thus the electricity production will increase.

He said these at a meeting held at the Bidduth Bhaban on Thursday organized to discuss about power situation in the coming Ramadan and current summer season.

Concerned ministry officials and representatives from distribution agencies, Petrobangla, FBCCI and shop owners associations were present in the meeting.

Nasrul Hamid said, although there were allegations of load shading in different parts of the country but uninterrupted power supply will be managed during the coming Ramadan. One thousand megawatt electricity will be added in the national grid in the current month.

He urged the businessmen to keep open their shops according to the law. He also emphasized on minimum use of electricity by avoiding misuse.

Several decisions were taken in the meeting such as, following the existing law for keeping open the shops and markets, avoiding use of welding machines, oven, iron and re-rolling mills during pick hour, avoiding excess use of lights in markets, petrol pumps and CNG filling stations, minimize air condition use during the time of Iftar and not to allow load shading in the period of Tarabi prayer and Sehri.

Export earnings rise 10% in March

LPG price cut by Tk 40 for 12 kg cylinder
