Not theft, enmity is the reason behind attack on UNO Wahida: Police

Rangpur range DIG of Police Devdas Bhattacharja has said that not an intension of theft, rather enmity is the reason behind the attack on Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wahida Khanam.

He said, Rabiul, an employee of the UNO office and main conspirator of the attack has been arrested. Ladder and hammer used during the attack on Wahida Khanam were recovered.

He delivered the information on Saturday.

Mentionable, at 3 am on September 3, some miscreants entered the Ghoraghat residence of the UNO after breaking the ventilator and attacked her and her freedom fighter father.

They were admitted in Rangpur Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Later as the condition of Wahida deteriorated she was airlifted to Dhaka from Rangpur and was admitted at National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital in Dhaka.

Wahida Khanam’s brother Sheikh Farid filed an attempt to murder case with Ghoraghat police station under Dinajpur district accusing two unidentified attackers.
