‘Sinha murder investigation report to be submitted in due time’
The investigation committee formed by the home ministry has concluded its quizzing to former OC Pradeep in connection with retired Major Sinha murder case.
Chief of the investigation committee and Additional Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Mizanur Rahman said, we have talked to OC Pradeep for a long time. We are analyzing the information provided by him and the information that we got earlier. The report will be submitted in the government’s stipulated time.
The head of the investigation committee said these to the newsmen after completing quizzing at the Cox’s Bazar jail gate area at 5:30 pm on Wednesday.
Earlier, the investigation committee began quizzing at the Cox’s Bazar jail gate at 10:30 am and it continued for seven hours till 5:30 pm.
As RAB quizzed OC Pradeep for 15 days on remand, so the home ministry investigation committee could not get him for quizzing. As a result the time for submitting the report deferred for several time. At last the committee got seven days more time to submit report when they appealed for time on 31st August.
Retired Major Sinha Md. Rashed Khan was killed by police firing at around 10:30 pm on 31st July at Shamlapur check post under Baharchhara union on Dhaka-Teknaf marine drive. After the incident police filed two cases with Teknaf police station and one with Ramu police station. Later Sinha’s sister filed a case with Cox’s Bazar court. RAB so far has arrested 13 persons including seven police members, three APBN members and three witnesses of the case filed by police with Teknaf police station.
