Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md. Shafiqul Islam said, steps have been taken for ensuring three tier security measures centering Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day on February 21. Surveillance will be ensured through CCTV cameras for every inch of the area.

He said this to the newsmen after visiting the central Shaheed Minar area in the capital on Thursday.

Shafiqul Islam said, though there is no specific threat centering the day but strict surveillance will be kept on militant activities. Militants try to catch international attention centering this type of day. But nobody will be allowed to enter at the central shaheed minar premises without wearing mask.

As the corona contraction has spread all over the world and vaccines are being given, so this year five people from political level and not more than two people at personal level are requested to come at the shaheed minar premises, he added.

Chief of Counter Terrorism Unit and DMP Additional Commissioner Monirul Islam, Detective Branch Chief AKM Hafiz Akter, Additional Commissioner (Crime) Krishnapada Roy and others were present at that time.
