95 pc people satisfied with service of police: DMP Commissioner

People’s concept about service of police has changed. Service of police is being reached at the door steps of people. After filling general diary and case 95 per cent people have expressed their satisfactions, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Shafiqul Islam.

He said this in DMP’s monthly crime review meeting at Rajarbag Police Lines on Sunday.

The DMP Commissioner said, phone calls were made from the DMP headquarters to the service seekers about how much service the people get after filing GD or case in the police stations. Questions were made about the quality of service of police. 95 per cent people have expressed their satisfactions. It has to be maintained by police. While going for investigation police members have to refrain from unprofessional attitude. Police members have to use the modern technologies at best they can.

Shafiqul Islam said, high power CC cameras have to be installed in important places to prevent vehicle and motorcycle theft in the districts and upazilas including the capital. Besides CC cameras have to be installed at the entry point of the flyovers. Using software like Crime Data Management System (CDMS) and Suspect Identification and Verification System (SIVS) the list of the criminals should be prepared and they should be brought under law.

The DMP Commissioner emphasized on creating consciousness against women repression and rape.

High DMP officials including Additional Police Commissioner, Joint Police Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner were present in the meeting.
