Finance Minister’s car loses control: 15 injured

Suddenly the car of Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith lost control. But the minister was not in the car and was not injured severely. But the incident caused 15 people injured.

The incident took place in front of Sonarpara jame mosque at Raynagar under Sylhet metropolitan area on Friday.

The Finance Minister was exchanging views with the devotees in front of the mosque after Juma prayers. At that time driver of the car was taking it forward from the adjacent field. But the car suddenly lost control and hit the devotees.

The minister fell down and got marginal injury. But the incident caused 15 people injured. Among the injured there were, Sylhet district Awami League General Secretary and former MP Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, member of Sylhet district Awami League advisory council SM Nunu Mia, Metropolitan Awami League General Secretary Asad Uddin Ahmed and others.

The injured were admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.

Sylhet metropolitan Awami League Publicity Secretary Abdur Rahman Jamil confirmed the matter.

High officials of Metropolitan and Kotwali police station visited the spot.

Officer in Charge of Kotwali police station Gousul Hossain said, the driver was interrogated. He said that suddenly he lost control over the car. For this reason the accident occurred. But police is investigation the matter.
