130 mm of rain in Dhaka, waterlogging in places after heavy rainfall

According to the Meteorological Department, there was 130 millimeters of rain in the capital from Friday morning to 12 noon. The highest rainfall of the year has been recorded in Cox's Bazar. From Thursday to Friday 6 am (24 hours), 309 millimeters of rain has fallen in Cox's Bazar and 219 millimeters in Sandwip upazila.
The Met Office said, moderate to heavy rains are occurring across the country including the capital Dhaka under the influence of active monsoon. Heavy rains occurred in eight regions including Chandpur, Jashore, Gopalganj and Bogura. Eight regions including Tangail, Sirajganj, Rajshahi, Cox's Bazar, Sandwip, Kutubdia and Kushtia received very heavy rainfall.
