155 physicians die from corona so far in Bangladesh

So far 155 physicians died after being infected with coronavirus in the country. So far 2,911 physicians have been infected. Besides, total 8,207 medical staffs including nurses and health workers have been infected.

The information was delivered through a statement on Friday signed by Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) president Dr. Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin and secretary general Dr. Md. Ehteshamul Chowdhury.

According to the BMA information, the first physician died from coronavirus in Bangladesh on April 14 last year. In June last year highest 45 physicians died from coronavirus infection in the country. The rate of deaths began to decrease from September. Although, total 125 physicians died after being infected with the deadly virus last year.

The number of deaths has increased from the month of April this year. Five physicians died from coronavirus in January. One died in February and three died in March this year. In the current month highest 21 physicians died from the virus. So far 155 physicians died from the deadly disease.

According to the calculation of the organization, the number of infections and deaths are greater in Dhaka division. Then there are the positions of Chattogram and Sylhet division. 105 physicians died in these divisions. The rest died in Rajshahi, Barishal and Rangpur divisions. So far 2000 nurses have been infected with the virus. Besides, total 8,207 people including 3,296 health workers have been infected with coronavirus in the country in this sector.
