Lockdown is going on for the second consecutive day across the country including capital Dhaka. Activities of police were seen to implement the lockdown across the city on Thursday morning.

Police have set up check posts in different important roads. They were seen checking identities of the passengers after stopping the vehicles and were asking the reason for coming on the road. Besides, many roads were blocked by putting barricades. Even transports of emergency services cannot enter through these roads, those had to go using the alternative roads.

On pretext of the increasing coronavirus infection in the country the government announced countrywide ‘complete lockdown’ from Wednesday. The restrictions of the lockdown will be effective till midnight of April 21. But industrial units including garments factories and banks will remain open.

Workers movement in lockdown period:

Though production oriented mill-factories including garments factories are out of the coverage of lockdown but due to the holiday of Bengali new year most of the factories remained closed. So there is confusion about uninterrupted movement of the workers. The directions of the government said that factory owners have to arrange transport for the workers.

In this regard State Minister for Labor Munnujan Sufian said that legal steps will be taken if measures are not taken by the concerned owners.
